The Bruise You Cannot Account For

There is a bruise on your forearm the size of a thumbprint and you have no idea where it came from.

The one on your shin, from the open dishwasher door, is three weeks old and has gone yellow-green rather than gone away.

A paper cut on your knuckle from a fortnight ago is still there, still catching on things, reopening every time you wash up.

The scratch the cat gave you in the spring left a brown mark that has stayed brown.

You have started to think of yourself as clumsy, or delicate, or both. Neither is what is happening.

Doctor Exposes Breakfast Scam Backed by Billion-Dollar Brands

Cereal for breakfast? It might be doing more harm than good…

For years, big food companies told us cereal was a healthy way to start the day.

But now, one top doctor is sounding the alarm…

“It turns out, most cereals are packed with hidden sugars that can cause weight gain, low energy, and irregular bowel movements,” he says.

In this short video, Dr. Steven Gundry reveals what’s really in your morning bowl of cereal — and what to eat instead.

P.S. Avoiding certain fattening cereals — and eating 1 delicious food instead — could help you enjoy more energy, younger-looking skin, regular digestion, and even a flatter belly.✝*

Collagen Is Scaffolding, And Your Vessels Are Braced Against It

The small blood vessels running through your skin are not free-floating tubes. They sit inside a collagen matrix that braces them.

When that matrix thins, the vessels are less supported and rupture more easily from a knock that would once have registered as nothing.

The figure for how much thinning is the part nobody says out loud. After menopause, skin collagen drops by around 30 percent in the first five years, and then by roughly 2 percent a year after that.

Thirty percent. In five years. Nobody mentioned that was on the schedule.

If you have clingy belly fat…

Blame these 3 “healthy” breakfast foods.

Instead of helping you shed unwanted pounds,

They can act like “glue” and ATTRACT “STICKY FAT”.

What I’m about to show you isn’t for the faint-hearted…But you need to see the truth.

Repair Is A Programme, And Estrogen Runs It

Healing is not passive. It is a sequence, and estrogen is involved at almost every step.

It drives the production of collagen types I and III while restraining the enzymes that break matrix down.

It damps the inflammatory phase, which is what stops a small wound from staying angry for weeks.

And through one of its receptor subtypes, it promotes the migration of keratinocytes, the cells that physically crawl across an open wound to close it.

Seventy Eight Percent

A 2023 review in Frontiers in Physiology gathered this evidence together. Women on hormone therapy showed lower rates of venous and pressure ulcers than untreated women, and women taking anti-estrogen drugs showed impaired healing.

Then the number that reframes everything. Among genes expressed differently in wounds from aged skin compared with young skin, 78 percent were estrogen-regulated.

Slower healing is not a vague consequence of time passing. It is largely a hormonal programme running at a lower setting.

Cover It, Do Not Air It

Do this, because it is the opposite of what you were taught. A wound heals faster covered and moist than open and dry.

Plaster plus a plain ointment. Change it daily. Do not let it scab hard and dry out, because a dry scab is an obstacle the new cells have to work around rather than through.

And protect the healing mark from sun for a good six months. Sun on new scar tissue is what fixes the brown pigment in place permanently.

Then Cover The Shins And Forearms

Long sleeves for the jobs that keep marking you. Gardening, the boot of the car, moving furniture, the dishwasher door.

This is not fussiness. It is the same logic as any other protective equipment, applied to tissue that now has less padding around its plumbing.

Easy bruising alongside bleeding gums, frequent nosebleeds, bruises appearing in clusters, or heavy periods, needs a full blood count and clotting screen. Not reassurance.

And check your own cabinet. Aspirin, anticoagulants, fish oil at high doses and long-term steroids, including inhaled and topical ones, all make you bruise more.

You did not get clumsy. Your skin is rebuilding on a budget that was cut without notice.
