You Were Asleep. Your Body Was Not.
You wake up and your jaw aches. Not from anything you did.
Your dentist says you are grinding. She recommends a night guard.
What she does not mention is why this started now. You never ground your teeth before this decade.
During the day you catch it too. Teeth pressed together at your desk, jaw locked through a meeting that does not warrant it.
You unclench. Ten minutes later it is back.
This is not about stress. It is about progesterone leaving a job it held in your brain for decades.

This “Canned Food” KILLS Brain Cells
Senior moments? Do NOT eat this "canned food" again.
MIT research discovered ONE canned food that contains a “sticky toxin” linked to memory loss in seniors.
This brain-killing toxin can CHOKE your neurons to death – erasing precious memories as you sleep.
So…
Can you guess which canned food is silently killing your memory?
The answer will shock you…
Because it's likely sitting in your kitchen pantries right now:

Progesterone Becomes A Brake
Your body converts progesterone into allopregnanolone, a neurosteroid that binds directly to GABA receptors.
GABA is your brain’s primary inhibitory signal. It keeps muscle tone down, deepens sleep, and stops the nervous system running on alert all night.
Progesterone is one of the earliest hormones to fall in perimenopause. It drops before estrogen does.
Every cycle that arrives late, or does not arrive, is a cycle where progesterone barely appeared.
When progesterone falls, allopregnanolone falls with it, and the chemical brake holding your jaw muscles loose overnight weakens.

This “Neon Root” Fixed My Digestion & Skin Issues Almost Overnight
After years of constant bloating, stomach cramps and adult acne that wouldn’t go away, I was so desperate I would’ve tried anything.
That’s how I came across a bizarre “neon root”, recommended by a doctor.
I took it before bed and by morning, my bloating was completely gone. I woke up with a completely flat stomach!
By day 3, the stubborn acne on my face completely disappeared.
If you want to clear your skin and fix your gut by tomorrow morning, you need to see this:
Lighter Sleep, Louder Muscle
Sleep gets shallower. Micro-arousals multiply through the night.
During those brief arousals the masseter, the thick muscle at the angle of your jaw, can fire without your permission.
You are not grinding because you are worried about something. You are grinding because the signal that kept the muscle quiet has thinned out.
A 2022 study in Menopause, the journal of The Menopause Society, examined jaw pain across menopause stages.
The correlation between jaw pain and menopausal symptoms was strongest in the late menopause transition, and both diminished through the postmenopausal stages.
Not after it was over. In the middle of it, which is where you are.
Train Where Your Mouth Rests
The night guard protects your enamel. It does nothing about the signal.
So work on the daytime position, because daytime clenching is the part you can still reach. Lips closed, teeth apart, tongue flat against the roof of your mouth just behind your front teeth.
With your tongue there, your jaw cannot fully clench. Set three phone reminders and check your mouth every time one goes off.
Two Minutes Before Bed
Warm cloth against both sides of your jaw for two minutes.
Then open your mouth wide, hold five seconds, close gently. Five times.
You are giving the muscle a deliberate instruction to release before you lose conscious control of it for the night.
Jaw pain with morning headaches and sleep that never feels restorative is also the profile of sleep-disordered breathing, which drives its own micro-arousals and its own clenching.
If that sounds like you, ask about a sleep study rather than ordering a second night guard.
You were never a clenched person. You lost the molecule that kept the muscle quiet.
