One Glass, And The Night Is Gone

One glass with dinner. Nothing more.

You are asleep by ten thirty and you are awake at two forty five with your heart going and your mouth like paper.

The rest of the night is a negotiation. By eleven the next morning your head is packed with wool and you have no patience for anyone.

It was one glass. It used to be three and a late film.

You have been calling this getting old, or getting boring. It is neither. Alcohol has started landing on a system that has less to absorb it with.

Doctor Exposes Breakfast Scam Backed by Billion-Dollar Brands

Cereal for breakfast? It might be doing more harm than good…

For years, big food companies told us cereal was a healthy way to start the day.

But now, one top doctor is sounding the alarm…

“It turns out, most cereals are packed with hidden sugars that can cause weight gain, low energy, and irregular bowel movements,” he says.

In this short video, Dr. Steven Gundry reveals what’s really in your morning bowl of cereal — and what to eat instead.

P.S. Avoiding certain fattening cereals — and eating 1 delicious food instead — could help you enjoy more energy, younger-looking skin, regular digestion, and even a flatter belly.✝*

Alcohol Is A Sedative, Not A Sleep Aid

It shortens the time it takes you to fall asleep. That part is real, and it is why you keep reaching for it.

Then your body metabolizes it, and the second half of the night pays. Sympathetic activation rises, heart rate goes up, sleep fragments, and REM gets suppressed.

You did not wake at two forty five for no reason. You woke because the sedative wore off and left a stimulant behind.

Ask Your Doctor For This Heart Test ♥️

There's a test that could tell you exactly what's happening inside your arteries right now.

Doctors used to order it routinely.

Not anymore.

It quietly disappeared from standard checkups.

Why?

Because what it reveals could change how millions of people think about heart health… and put billions in heart medication sales at risk.

You won't get this test at your next physical.

But you can still find out what it checks for and what to do about it.

P.S. If your last checkup came back "normal," that doesn't mean your heart is safe. This test checks something most panels completely miss.

And Your Body Holds Less Of It

Alcohol distributes into body water. Through midlife the proportion of your body that is water declines.

Same glass. Less water to dilute it. A higher concentration reaching your brain and your liver than the identical drink delivered at 35.

Now Read This In The Right Direction

A 2025 study in the journal Women's Health surveyed 936 women aged 40 to 65 about menopause symptoms, drinking, and mental health.

Just over half met criteria for hazardous drinking.

Perimenopausal women, not postmenopausal, scored highest for alcohol-related harm. They also reported the most severe symptoms and the lowest wellbeing.

And the finding that matters most. Drinking to relieve a negative physical or emotional state partially explained the link between symptom severity and hazardous drinking.

The symptoms came first. The glass came second, as treatment.

Nobody prescribed it. Nobody diagnosed anything. You were left to work out your own pain relief and you reached for the only thing on the shelf.

Fourteen Nights

Do this. Not forever. Fourteen nights with no alcohol after six in the evening.

This is not a moral project and it is not about your character. It is a trial with an endpoint.

Judge it on mornings only. Write one line each day about how the eleven a.m. version of you is doing. Nothing else.

Then Write Down What You Were Treating

One sentence, on paper. Was it the sleep, the pain, the noise at six p.m., the dread, the body you cannot get comfortable in.

Name the actual thing. Then take that sentence to someone who prescribes, because every item on that list has a treatment, and none of those treatments is wine.

You were not being weak. You were being resourceful with a very poor toolkit.

You were never developing a problem. You were the only person treating one.
