Your Rings Went On This Morning And Not This Evening

You took your rings off at eight o'clock because your fingers had changed shape since breakfast.

There is a sock line across your ankle, a deep one, and you can press a dent into your shin that stays for a second.

The scale says three pounds more than yesterday, which no amount of eating explains.

Your face looked different in the morning photo. Not older. Fuller, in a way you cannot point to.

You have been calling this bloating and blaming salt. Some weeks you are strict with salt and it happens anyway, which should have told both of us something.

Progesterone And Aldosterone Share A Receptor

Aldosterone is the hormone that tells your kidneys to hold onto sodium. Where sodium goes, water follows.

Progesterone competes with aldosterone at the same receptor. For thirty years it sat in that seat part of every month, blunting the signal to retain.

So your fluid balance was never neutral. It was an argument between two hormones, and one of them has now become unreliable.

In perimenopause progesterone falls first and swings hardest. The argument gets one-sided, in a pattern that changes month to month.

This Is How Your Drinking Water Speeds Up Memory Loss By 50%

Scientists at the University of New Mexico just made a shocking discovery:

Inside the water you drink every single day, there are invisible toxic shards silently building up inside your brain…

Strangling your brain cells like a snake…

Crushing the connections that keep your memory sharp…

And speeding up memory loss by 50% every 8 years.

If you want to see what's erasing your memory daily — and stop it before it's too late — you need to check this out now:

And The Cycle Data Shows It

Szmuilowicz and colleagues, publishing in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism in 2006, measured aldosterone across the menstrual cycle in normotensive premenopausal women under controlled sodium conditions.

In the luteal phase, urinary aldosterone, basal serum aldosterone and the aldosterone response to infused angiotensin II were all significantly higher than in the follicular phase.

Progesterone correlated directly with all three. Estradiol correlated with none of them.

This system is progesterone's, not estrogen's. Which is precisely why it starts misbehaving in early perimenopause, years before anyone is willing to use the word menopause about you.

Log It Against The Cycle, Not The Salt

Do this for six weeks. Three notes a day is too many, so take one.

Every evening, one line. Rings, ankles, shoes, and your cycle day if you still have one.

You are looking for whether the swelling clusters. If it does, you have a hormonal pattern rather than a dietary failure, and you can stop conducting an investigation into your own eating.

Your K-Cups Sat in a Warehouse for Months

Grocery store pods spend months going factory → warehouse → truck → shelf, losing the flavor oils that make coffee taste like coffee. Angelino's roasts, packs, and ships within days — 50+ flavors, compatible with Keurig®, from 39¢ a cup. New customers save 15%, no code needed.

Then Move The Fluid Mechanically

Your calf muscles are the pump that returns fluid from your legs. A day of sitting or standing still is a day with the pump switched off.

So contract them deliberately. Thirty heel raises, three times a day, wherever you are.

Legs above heart height for fifteen minutes in the evening. Compression socks for long desk days, long drives, flights.

Reduce sodium if it is high, but stop treating it as the whole story, because you already know it is not.

Swelling in one leg and not the other, especially with calf pain or warmth, needs same-day assessment. That is how a clot presents.

Swelling with breathlessness, especially lying flat or waking you at night, is a heart question and needs urgent attention.

Puffiness around your eyes in the morning with frothy urine is a kidney question.

And check whether it started with a medication. Calcium channel blockers, non-steroidal anti-inflammatories, gabapentin and steroids all cause fluid retention, and the timing is usually obvious once you look.

You did not gain three pounds overnight. You are holding them, because the hormone that used to argue back has gone quiet.
