You Nodded And You Did Not Hear It

Six people, a hard floor, a room with nothing soft in it.

The woman across from you is telling you something. You can hear that she is speaking. You cannot separate her voice from the two behind her.

You nod in the right places. You laugh half a beat after the table does.

You get home at eleven and you are wiped out in a way the evening does not account for. You had two glasses of wine and a nice time. You feel like you worked a shift.

And last month you said no to something you would have said yes to, and told yourself you have just become more of a homebody.

How To “Unclog” Your Follicles And Grow Thicker Hair

Hormones, genetics, stress, aging…

They’re all blamed for hair loss.

New research shows the “cause” doesn’t matter.

Yet what does is the bottleneck that stops hair from growing: Clogged follicles.

See, when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin, hardened oils, and other gunk…

No new hair can grow.

Yet once you clear this “Follicle Clog”…

Your hair’s thickness, health, and volume surges back to life.

In fact, a “Follicle Clog” clearing technique we developed is linked to a 32% reduction in hair loss.

Terri, who tried it, said: “There’s way less hair in the drain. It’s actually staying on my head.”

If you’ve struggled with thinning hair for years… and would love to see baby hairs growing again…

I show you how to “unclog” your hair follicles in this short video:

To hair that shines with beauty, grace, and vitality.

Hearing In Noise Is A Different Skill

Detecting a sound and separating a voice from a room are two different jobs.

Pulling one speaker out of competing noise depends on your brain comparing the timing of sound arriving at each ear with millisecond precision, then filling gaps from context.

That precision degrades before the volume threshold does.

Which means a standard hearing test can come back normal while the thing you actually struggle with goes unmeasured, because a pure tone in a silent booth is the one listening condition you have no trouble with.

Thinning Hair In Old Age? Try This Home Remedy

Hair thinning with age is often blamed on hormones or genetics, but a newly discovered scalp buildup could be the real culprit.

This simple home remedy helps clear it out and supports healthier growth naturally.

The Research Is Thin, And Here Is What It Says

A 2026 analysis in Annals of Otology, Rhinology and Laryngology used NHANES data covering 1,778 women aged 40 to 69.

Menopausal status by itself was not significantly associated with hearing loss. Nor was hormone therapy use.

What was associated was cumulative exposure. Women with later menopause had better hearing than those with earlier menopause, by around 4.6 decibels, and each additional year of reproductive lifespan tracked with slightly better hearing.

So the simple version, that menopause damages your hearing, is not supported. The signal is about how many years of estrogen exposure you had, and there are estrogen receptors in the cochlea and the auditory pathway.

One dataset. That is roughly the sum of what has been asked about this.

And Here Is Why It Exhausts You

When the incoming signal is degraded, comprehension gets reconstructed. Your working memory holds fragments, predicts, and fills in.

That is real cognitive labour, sustained for three hours, on top of the conversation itself.

Listening effort is the mechanism behind the withdrawal. You are not losing your appetite for people. You are declining a second job you were never told you had taken on.

Get The Right Test

Do this. Ask for an audiogram now, at your age, as a baseline.

Then ask specifically for speech-in-noise testing. Say those words. A pure tone audiogram alone will not capture what you are describing, and being told your hearing is fine on that basis is how another five years go by.

Back to the wall. Noise behind you, faces in front of you.

Book the booth, the corner, the table away from the kitchen and the speaker. Rooms with curtains, carpet and cloth are rooms you can hear in.

Never take the middle seat of a long table, which is the seat that requires you to track two conversations and succeed at neither.

Say the sentence. I missed the middle of that, say it again.

Every time you nod through something you did not catch, you accept a slightly smaller share of the evening, and eventually you stop going.

Protect what you still have, too. Noise damage is cumulative and permanent, and for most women the loudest things in a week are headphones and a hairdryer.

You did not become antisocial. You have been working a second job at every dinner, and nobody costed it.
