The Waistband By Four O'Clock
You got dressed this morning and it fitted. By four in the afternoon you are undoing the button in the car.
The same lunch you ate all last year now inflates you like something is being pumped in.
Some weeks nothing bothers you. Other weeks everything does, which is precisely why it sounds made up when you try to describe it.
You have bought peppermint capsules and a probiotic and you have started quietly declining evening plans on the bad days.
Your gut is not being dramatic. It is an organ your hormones have been operating all along, and nobody thought to mention it was on the list.
Doctor Exposes Breakfast Scam Backed by Billion-Dollar Brands
Cereal for breakfast? It might be doing more harm than good…
For years, big food companies told us cereal was a healthy way to start the day.
But now, one top doctor is sounding the alarm…
“It turns out, most cereals are packed with hidden sugars that can cause weight gain, low energy, and irregular bowel movements,” he says.
In this short video, Dr. Steven Gundry reveals what’s really in your morning bowl of cereal — and what to eat instead.
P.S. Avoiding certain fattening cereals — and eating 1 delicious food instead — could help you enjoy more energy, younger-looking skin, regular digestion, and even a flatter belly.✝*

Progesterone Drives Your Transit Time
Progesterone relaxes smooth muscle. Your gut is smooth muscle.
Higher progesterone slows transit. Food sits longer, ferments longer, produces more gas.
Estrogen has its own effects on motility, on how much water the bowel holds, and on visceral sensitivity, which is how loudly your nervous system reports what is happening in there.
In perimenopause both hormones swing unpredictably, week to week, cycle to cycle.
So your transit time is not stable any more. The identical meal gets a different journey depending on when you eat it. That is the inconsistency you have been unable to explain to anyone.
Try This "Younger Eyes" Trick…
There's no sense in beating around the bush…
You're going to want to try this "younger eyes" technique stat…
Because I've yet to find such an easy method that makes THIS much of a difference so quickly.
Seriously, if you were to use this trick first thing in the morning, you could be showing off a younger-looking face that same day.
So even though it may feel like those dark circles, hollow eyes, and sagging lids are here to stay…
I'm here to tell you there's hope — no matter your age.
(I mean, just check out how much younger and more open these women's eyes looked just a few weeks later. It's crazy!)
So give this method a try for yourself. I have a feeling when you see the results, you won't believe your eyes;)
P.S. Funny story — this technique was actually discovered by Korean dermatologists who were looking for a
way to help women avoid expensive filler appointments. What they found instead was a 30-second morning
ritual using one specific mineral that most eye creams completely ignore. (See what it is here.)
And The Population In There Has Changed
Peters and colleagues analyzed gut microbiome data from the Hispanic Community Health Study and Study of Latinos and published in the journal mSystems in 2022. Just under 300 premenopausal women, more than a thousand postmenopausal women, and nearly a thousand men.
Postmenopausal women had lower gut microbial diversity than premenopausal women.
And their microbial profile more closely resembled the men's.
They also had less microbial beta-glucuronidase, an enzyme that reactivates estrogen in the gut so it can be reabsorbed rather than excreted.
Which means your gut bacteria are part of your estrogen economy. Not adjacent to it. Inside it.
Log The Cycle, Not The Food
Do this. For two weeks, write three things a day. What you ate, how your abdomen felt by evening, and where you are in your cycle.
That third column is the one nobody records, and it is usually the one carrying the pattern.
You are not hunting a villain food. You are looking for which week of the month your gut is slow, so you can stop blaming the salad.
Then Feed The Diversity
Thirty grams of fiber a day, from as many different plants as you can manage. Beans, lentils, oats, seeds, skins left on.
Increase it slowly across three or four weeks. Going from ten grams to thirty in a weekend will make everything worse and convince you fiber is your problem.
Diversity of plants does more here than any single supplement on the shelf.
One Thing That Is Not This
Bloating that is persistent rather than fluctuating, that does not settle overnight, that comes with unintended weight loss, appetite change or any bleeding, needs a doctor now.
Persistent bloating in a woman over 45 is also an ovarian cancer symptom. That gets excluded first and then we talk about hormones and fiber.
Ask for that specifically. Do not let it be filed under stress.
You did not get fussy. Your gut was on the same schedule as everything else, and nobody put it on the list.
